Conducting a competitive tender system and cost benefit analysis of the provision of catering services to the 12 Sport and Recreation Centres.
Project Description:
The Department operates 12 Sport and Recreation Centres across the state of NSW serving over 1 million meals per year to campers. The Department wanted to ensure that the balance between cost and efficiency was being achieved and that providing the meals in-house achieved the optimum outcomes. After visiting every centre to gather needs analysis and financial data, a Tender Document was prepared and submitted to the catering industry.
Outcomes:
The Tender process resulted in the main hospitality industry operators submitting competitive tenders to replace the in-house solution. The analysis of the results proved that the Department could produce high quality catering at a lower cost and the Tender Assessment Committee recommended to retain the in-house catering department.
